12 Marks of a Transformed Life

ENCOURAGE
Heb. 10:24-25
January 2012
Power verse: Hebrews 10:24–25
Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
“Encourage” - to come alongside to aid, help, comfort, exhort.
- Take time each week to consider and study what you can do to encourage other believers as this Scripture commands.
- Each week in January, identify one believer to encourage biblically.
- ‘Stir up to love” - help them unconditionally love others.
- ‘Stir up to good works’ - assist them to practically serve other Christians by using their gifts and abilities.
- Encourage him/her in the struggle with the world, sin, and suffering. Practical ways to encourage:
1) Share a positive from your own life such as answered prayer, a blessing, a helpful verse, a useful book.
2) Provide accountability through prayer or Bible study.
- Each day this month pray asking God to help you identify a believer to encourage - someone who is missing from fellowship with God’s church. Look for an opportunity to talk with them about regular fellowship with the body of Christ. Encourage that person to join you in a meeting, such as church worship, small group, or youth group.
Exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:13
Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Cor 13:11 (NLT)
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
- Someone I’ve encouraged biblically
